Newport is located on the central Oregon coast just two and a half hours from Portland and one hour from the I-5 corridor. The town is an eclectic mix of traditional fishing village, found in Newport’s historic Bayfront, meets sophisticated arts and culture, found in the ever-popular Nye Beach District.
Explorers will be kept busy in Newport and throughout Lincoln County, with activities such as crabbing, whale-watching, clamming, charter boat fishing, hiking, biking, golfing and more. With the Pacific Ocean serving as backyard for both the Hallmark Resort Newport and Georgie’s, beach activities are just an amble away, including: tide pool exploring, kite flying, sandcastle building, surfing and kayaking.
Newport has many attractions for visitors, such as the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Hatfield Marine Science Center, the historic Bayfront, Nye Beach, Yaquina Head Lighthouse, Rogue Ales and the Hallmark Resort Newport.
